In the 19th century, the City of Orizaba was the fifth richest in the whole country, and they wanted to build a palace to would reflected the booming local economy, at that time, many people from all over the world lived there, especially from Europe and the United States, and Orizaba was recognized as one of the most educated cities in Mexico.

The one who designed the palace was the most famous and respected architect of the time, the french, Gustave Eiffel, the same who designed the world famous Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, fulfilling his purpose of exalting the city, being the greatest tourist attraction of Orizaba, in addition to the famous Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico, its name in Nahuatl is Citlaltépetl, its meaning is "the mount of the star".

Also, this is the only palace in the whole world that is made of iron, it is addambled only by screws, so it would be possible to disassemble it and rebuild it in another city, interesting, isn't it?
